Tend Your Temple

What does it mean to tend your temple? Well, to tend is to care, nurture and to preserve. Our bodies (temple), health and wellbeing are like a slow-growing garden which we water and work continually, day after day after day. It takes maintenance, it takes time but it is rewarding and only our responsibility.

My hope is people would see their health, fitness and wellbeing as something they take personal ownership of and patiently steward. A fulfilling journey that reaps benefits for more than their physical health but their emotional wellbeing, devotion, relationships, goals, discipline, focus, faith and more.

You may have grown up with traditions, temptations and pressures that would tell you the contrary. You may struggle staying consistent. You may think you’re too young or too old to care. I hope to change that.

A gardeners knows his plants: he knows the soil pH they need, the moisture, the fertiliser, the sunlight, the pruning and the pest control for a seed to mature then blossom. We should be the gardeners of our body; attentive, curious, learning , listening to what our bodies need.

Thankfully, I can tell people are hungry for this. Gen Z, the new adults, are already embracing this. I see them half-marathoning, hyroxing, padelling, climbing, dancing and dodge-balling little wildfires here, there and everywhere. Let’s pour more fuel on the fire.

If you don’t get it or think it’s not that deep, that’s more than fine BUT I ask you to just be curious: stay, ask, learn and later I hope you’ll understand.
